The swing boom offsets sideways, letting the operator dig hard against a wall, fence or foundation without repositioning the tracks. A full cab makes all-weather working practical rather than merely possible. Rubber tracks spread the weight, so the machine can cross lawns, block paving and soft ground without wrecking the surface.

Common jobs include utility trenching, foundation digging, landscape reshaping, and site clearance where lorries and larger machines cannot get in.
