The Hydraulic Thumb broadens the machine's operational reach, enabling it to effectively handle objects of varying shapes and sizes for a range of engineering tasks. The hydraulic thumb also enhances safety during operations by firmly gripping objects, reducing the chances of drops and slips.

The hydraulic thumb turns the bucket into a grab, so rock, root balls, brash and broken concrete can be picked and placed rather than dragged.

Adding a thumb converts the bucket into a grab, which transforms the machine for clearance and handling work.

Fitment depends on carrier tonnage and coupler standard; hydraulic tools additionally need an auxiliary circuit on the excavator.
